The Impossible Game

What Is The Impossible Game?

The Impossible Game is a challenging and fast platform game in which the player must maneuver a cube in an environment that has spikes, holes, and blocks. It is known for the simplicity of control and the high difficulty involved in playing it, thus being a game that casual gamers have become fond of.

The objective is simple – you need to survive for as long as possible without hitting anything. But it takes very precise control and quick reactions to accomplish that feat in each level. Players of rhythm platform games like Geometry Dash can instantly see that it is quite similar to that game.

Gameplay and mechanics

The Impossible Game is a simplistic game, the game play is simple: players tap or click to make the cube jump and avoid the spikes All of that is enough to make the gameplay addictive, but add in the five levels of difficulty, the simple graphics and the strong music and you have a real winner on your hands. When a cube is pushed into its next hole, it has to jump – Players do not run or walk, but jump one hole space – whether up one or down one – onto that hole. You'll have to time your leaps perfectly to dodge obstacles and enemies that litter that route.

With increasing speed the obstacles are getting more and more difficult and distracting. If you miss a jump, it can send you back to the closest checkpoint, or start the level all over again depending on the selected mode.

The most practical aspect of gameplay though is the checkpoint flag system in Practise Mode. Players can set flags prior to tricky sections, so that hthey can resume from that point if they die. This system allows complete beginners to learn level patterns and improve their timing step by step.

Game Modes and Worlds

The Impossible Game has 2 main modes:

Practice Mode

Practice Mode is recommended for novice players. Players may place checkpoints around the stage to train on segments of the game they find particularly difficult. It trains your reaction time and muscle memory and doesn’t have the irritation factor of having to start over each time.

Normal Mode

Normal Mode, on the other hand, is when things start to get really tough. There are no additional checkpoints, with which the players should rely on their skills and precision to finish the level.
The fun never ends with a variety of levels such as:

  • Fire Aura
  • Original Level
  • Chaoz Fantasy
  • Heaven
  • Phazd

With each level, new obstacle patterns, faster speeds, and more complicated jumps sequences are introduced, keeping the gameplay fresh and challenging.
